The loss of Patty Duke in North Idaho

I grew up with Patty Duke in my living room. Did you?
Patty Duke, aka Anna Marie Duke Pearce moved to North Idaho in 1990. She left Los Angeles to come to peace and quiet and start a simple life. She was married to Michael Pearce a formal Army drill instructor and they were a very happy, well known couple.
She has three sons: Sean Astin, MacKenzie Astin, and Kevin Pearce. You might recognize the first two names.
Patty is known for several shows and her famous The Miracle Worker play. She also played Helen Keller, at one point. She did local plays in Coeur d’Alene and always wanted to give her knowledge to others.
She was an advocate for many things, as she was bipolar; she was very involved in speaking about her illness. She was also an advocate for AIDS awareness, and equal rights amendments. She was the president of the screen actor’s guild and was elected by Ed Asner.
Patty Duke passed away from sepsis on March 29, 2016 in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Her funeral will be April 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at Lake City Community Church at 600 E. Ramsey Rd.
There is a petition going around for people to sign so that the President of the United States would honor her with all of her accomplishments. I have attached the link below.
