We are blessed in Coeur d’Alene to have so many wonderful outdoor venues to travel to that are near us. One of my favorite locations is Tubbs Hill. At the bottom of Tubbs Hill, you will find McEuen Park with many activities for the entire family. They have a water pad with little fountains, they have tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, an off leash dog park, a huge play area for the kids, a picnic shelter that has to be reserved through the city, and of course Tubbs Hill.
Tubbs has a few different trail systems that run through it. My favorite quick one, is the main one that runs 2.4 miles. You can bring your dog and have a fun time, or you can run or walk. I have seen strollers come up there, but they don’t usually make it. Perhaps one made for rugged terrain?
The other trail system usually goes up the mountain or there are some switch back systems that are higher up the mountain, so the terrain is much harder.
There is something for everyone. You would take the Sherman Ave exit and head into downtown Coeur d’Alene. Once you hit third street, take a left and head into the parking lot. Parking is free for the first two hours and you can get around most of Tubbs in that time frame.
