Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This was an audible deal of the day. (Spoilers below)
I purchased it to try something different.
This was a wild story. It was the story of a woman that was unsure of her future. She disappointed her successful parents by getting pregnant when young and not choosing college.
She is happy with her life, but she is not successful in relationships. She dates both men and women and does not have a preference. She loved the person for themselves.
Her daughter is very smart. Too smart for her own good and gives the protagonist a run for her money.
In this story we see failed relationships, successful relationships, and entry into a reality cooking show. That is its own drama running along side of everything else.
This was read in an Irish accent, there are many swearwords, as well as words that are not used in American English. (IE: lift = elevator).
I would not read or listen to this again. I am glad that it picked up part of the way though, as I was having a difficult time getting into it.
