The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was a great book based on a true historical figure.
I enjoyed reading this book about a woman growing up in south in the midst of racism and segregation. She was a lighter skinner black woman that was able to reinvent herself as a white woman.
She worked for JP Morgan as his personal librarian. He built her up and turned into a very important woman in an otherwise man’s world.
I found this to be a very fascinating storyline. I do love history, and enjoy seeing personal stories of people that important. I was left wanting to know more about her.
