Brave, Not Perfect: Fear Less, Fail More, and Live Bolder by Reshma Saujani
I this was the book club book for my office. I was disappointed by this book, actually.
Yes, there were some great stories from the author’s life. Yes, she and I had the same viewpoints on many things. Yes, she tried to give tips to help.
I just found it to be a little cliche as far as her repeating “tips” that every other self help book has mentioned.
She was interesting, but did like to talk about herself and accomplishments a lot. That is detracting. I understand this a woman empowerment book, but I want her to empower all women. I felt like she bragged about her ivy league degree and all that she accomplished that she didn’t want. The problem here was that she is alienating those people that would do anything to have even a portion of what she had.
I ended this book by feeling uninspired and disappointed.
