March – Malabar Farm State Park (Lucas)

July – Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve (Rockbridge)

Separate from (but close to) the beloved Hocking Hills State Park, this underrated nature preserve is just as inspiring as other popular hiking areas in the region, such as Old Man’s Cave. You’ll encounter several small waterfalls, steep cliffs and deep green everywhere you turn. It’s the perfect place to get away and connect with nature, and its gorge is said to be one of the deepest in Ohio.

The Ohio History Center tells the story of Ohio. You’ll learn about everything from the discovery of ancient Indian cultures and artifacts to the history of farming and public transportation. September – High Voltage Indoor Karting (Medina)

High Voltage Indoor Karting in Medina features Ohio’s only indoor and outdoor track. You’ll zoom in and out in electric, high speed go-karts that are insanely fun to drive. This track is the first in Ohio to feature electric, high-speed Italian go-karts. You’ll be able to reach speeds of 45-50 mph if you choose. Plus, it’s just outside of Historic Medina Square, so there’s much to see and do just around the corner. The entirety of Medina’s attractions make it among the best day trips in Ohio.

November – Bear’s Mill (Greenville)

If you enjoy Ohio history, nature and antiques, this is one historical landmark that belongs on your bucket list. Bear’s Mill is one of the few working grist mills still operating in America. It’s an Ohio treasure that dates back to 1849. Today, you can take a self-guided tour of this fascinating landmark. It’s open year-round and you can even observe grinding demonstrations on Saturdays.
